Past

In the beginning there was only the light and the darkness. Growing tired of the empty void that they lived within for countless eons, each decided to create their own realms and a race of beings to populate them. The darkness created hell and demons while the light created heaven and angels. It was within this realm of heaven that Lucifer came into being. He was known as the morning star. It was said that he was the most beautiful angel in all of heaven, and a favorite of the light. He served as the light's right hand. Everything within heaven was perfect, and all the angels--including Lucifer--were happy.

One day, on his way inside the palace of heaven, he met Cira the leader of the malakims. She was as fierce of a warrior as she was beautiful. They hit it off right away, and it didn't long for their relationship to turn romantic. They were lovers for some time before before both agreed that they should go their separate ways, but news of her pregnancy proved that they would share more than memories from that time. Cira ended up giving birth to twins--a boy and a girl. Lucifer loved his children with all his heart. They were his pride and joy.

The years drifted by until one day the light decided to create the race of man. He locked himself within his tower to work upon his creation, and allowed no one to enter. The denizens of heaven could only sit there and wait. Finally, he emerged and told his first borns about his new children. He explained to the angels how he had given these beings that he called human a piece of himself, and he wanted the angels to watch over and protect them. Many within heaven weren't happy about these new creations, but they did as they were asked. Lucifer was one of them.

Whatever feelings of doubt and jealousy Lucifer had towards the race of man slowly ebbed away as he performed the duty given to him and all angels, for that matter. He fell in love with them--one human especially. This human girl stole his heart in way that no one did since Cira, and some might argue that the human claimed it more completely than the other angel. He loved her with his entire being and the thought of leaving her side left him with a deep ache. They were together for some time. Long enough for her to conceive and give birth to a beautiful baby girl.

The light, however, it would seem wasn't happy with their relationship. It wasn't just Lucifer's and his beloved's relationship he found despicable, but every relationship of that sort that occurred between angel and human. They were only suppose to watch over his newest creation not interact with them and definitely not breed with them. He ordered them to cease right away, but every angel ignored him. They believed that with time his displeasure over the entire situation would pass.

Deciding that action needed to be taken in order to get the angels to listen, the light sent down his elite angels--the ones he sends when he wants something eliminated--to kill all the children born from the union of an angel and human. It wasn't just the children that these angels killed, but also the human parents as well as their angelic ones, if they had been around to defend their family. Lucifer's own family didn't escape this fate. Upon finding both his wife and daughter slaughtered, Lucifer became filled with anger and grief.

He vowed that he would not love a being that ordered the death of a child simply for the circumstance of her birth. Lucifer swore that he would not only remove the light from the throne of heaven but destroy him, as well. It was within this moment that the greatest war of heaven started. Lucifer drew many angels towards his cause, most of whom had lost children due to the light's order. The war went on for a long while, many angels fought against loved ones on the other side, each not completely understanding while the other took up arms for their particular side. It was that way with Lucifer and Cira. They fought each other upon the battlefield many times until she was cast out of heaven by her lover Syndrii.

Eventually, the war came to an end. The light and his army were the victors, and Lucifer along with those that fought for him were cast out of heaven. They became fallen angels, the first of their kind. Lucifer, in spite popular belief, did not become the king of hell. In fact, he has never stepped inside that realm. Though, he does find the stories amusing and eons after his fall another angel sharing his name became the king of hell after rebelling against the light and being cast into the very realm of hell itself, but that is a story for another day.

Meanwhile, the darkness seeing the love that humans bore for the light, whom they called God, decided to create her own children. Humans and these new beings called dark ones lived together for awhile until the humans fear of all things associated with the dark led them to kill the dark one's king and queen. As punishment for their crime, the light took away the sun thus casting the world into eternal darkness. The dark ones enslaved the race of man during this time. The light not wanting the humans to know just what a cruel heartless being he was went to hell and recruit demons to 'protect' the man against the dark ones' cruelty. However, Lucifer know the truth. He knew the light cared nothing about his creations. He only pretends to as long as one acts according to his 'great design', and as soon as they don't he destroys them.

The demons did as they were asked for awhile, but as everyone knows power corrupts, and the demon begun to hurt those they were suppose to protect. The human endured this for some time until a human girl by the name of Sara Jean climbed to the top of the mountain and asked the light to give mankind a way to defend themselves. Of course, the light answered that prayer, not to do so would shatter his facade. The return of the sun allowed the angels to rush down from heaven to defend the race of man. They couldn't before. Being the first children of the light, they weren't able to stay within a world of eternal darkness for long.

The return of the sun had caused the dark ones to retreat into another realm, but the demons were able oppress the humans in the manner they had before the return of the sun. Lucifer, who have been defending the humans against their oppressors since the dark ones started enslaving them, found himself stuck between a rock and a hard place. He wished to see his human freed from their demonic masters, but he did not wish to hand them over to a master who was even crueler. In the end, he decided to fight on the demons' side. He concluded that no matter what humans would find themselves enslaved, and thus it was better for them to be with masters that was honest with their cruelty as opposed to one who wasn't.

However, like with the first war Lucifer fought against the light, his side would not emerge the victors. The light decided to give the angels an helping hand against the demons after it became clear they were going to lose the war. The light created Sol, a being he said was suppose to be justice in human form. Sol completed the task she was created for, she freed man from their demonic masters. Though, the death of her lover Delos caused her to slaughter every demon she came across, but Lucifer knew that such detail didn't matter to the light. As long as she completed what she created for, it didn't matter whom she killed in the process.

Sol's quest to slaughter every demon that walked the earth was put to an end after she held a meeting between the light and the currant king of hell. Together they came up with the convent of heaven and hell. Laws that governed how angels and demons would act on earth, which was given to the race of man. If a demon or an angel breaks any of these laws they would be sent back to their respected realm.

The eons past until man forget about Sol and the events that came before her. During this time, hell became the place of eternal torment for those humans the light declared weren't worthy of entering heaven. Lucifer saw this as an opportunity. He saw this as a chance to protect humans against the pain and torment of realizing the truth about their creator. He believes that the anguish they would feel from that realization would be worse than a thousand eternities spent in hell. He did this by corrupting the soul of man, making it so the light considered them unworthy of entering heaven.

Present

Countless years have passed since Lucifer had started corrupting the souls of man. He doesn't know how many souls he managed to pull away from 'God', but he figures that every soul he manages to corrupt is a soul saved. He has made many friends during his eons of wandering the earth. One of his closet one is a mouse named Rordan, or as Lucifer affectionately calls him Rory. They met one night in a nearly empty tavern. Rory was looking for food, and Lucifer feeling a bit lonely decided to strike up a conversation with the mouse. A friendship was formed during that conversation, and the two have been inseparable every since.

Most times Rordan can be found sitting upon Lucifer's shoulder, but he will scurry to hide within the fallen angel's cloths when he becomes frightening. The mouse has, also, lived much longer than is typical for his species. Many people foolishly think that this is because Rordan is Lucifer's familiar. Certain types of witches have familiars, but angels nor fallen angels do. Some insist that Rordan is his familiar because Lucifer can speak with him. They say that some familiar speaks to those they are bonded to through a mental connection, and this is why they cannot hear the conversation. They cannot hear it because they are neither an angel or a fallen. If they were they would be able to speak with all animals that populate the earth.

Recently, Lucifer met a malakim named Araceli. She decided that she needed to hunt Lucifer down, whom she considered 'the ultimate' evil. Her decisions went against the direct orders of her superiors, but it doesn't matter; her attempts to do this, however, failed. Lucifer choose to engage in conversation with  her instead of fighting. He isn't certain what will come from this conversation, but he believes he has given the young malakim much to think about. Whether she tries to kill him again or not remains to be seen.
